Target, the massively popular U.S. discount store, began its invasion this morning. Following a long period of buzz about Target’s Canadian expansion, three stores west of Toronto in Guelph, Fergus, and Milton swung open their doors this morning. Will the Canadian Target offer the same amazing deals as its south-of-the-border counterpart?  What changes have been made to better suit the Canadian market? What we do know is that we’ve been itching to get our hands on their designer collabs (most recently, the colourful collection by Prabal Gurung for Target)! Brands such as Sonia Kashuk and Nate Berkus, as well as some homegrown labels like Roots, will be sold in the stores. Other Target stores in Ontario — 24 in total — will be open to the public by mid-March. This all leads up to the store’s official Canadian grand opening, which is projected for early April. Target’s Canadian domination will move west by late 2013, and into Quebec soon after that. The stores will be located in space vacated by the now-defunct Zellers. Will you be visiting Target Canada?
