Frida Giannini – Gucci’s creative director – is the focus of James Franco’s new documentary film. Franco, who produced the film, approached Giannini with the idea to give audiences a behind-the-scenes view of the fashion house’s creative process. With Christina Voros as director, the film takes a closer look at Gucci’s Italian headquarters, runway shows, models, and sartorial style. Most importantly, Franco examines Giannini’s life as a creative director, who opens up after attempts to keep her personal life private and in the past. The documentary has been titled
The Director and had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival yesterday. [
