Love her or hate her, when Kim Kardashian West wears a design it moves product, as Toronto-based fashion label Tyrell, helmed by designer Tyrell Harriott, recently experienced.

Earlier this week, Kardashian West posted a photo of herself on Instagram in one of Tyrell’s pieces, a baby blue “bikini set,” featuring a one-shoulder tank, detached sleeves and a hip-hugging skirt. “I definitely was screaming,” Harriott told us over email about his reaction to the post. “I had no idea she was going to wear it and found out from my friend sending me the [photo].”

“It confirms what I’m doing is actually valued,” he says of what Kardashian West wearing his design means to him. “Being a designer is tough; you second guess business decisions as well as creative ones. This gives me more confidence as well as helps the world understand my vision and take me more seriously as a designer.”

Harriott, a George Brown College fashion design grad, started his brand a little over two years ago, focusing on “slinky feminine silhouettes that are easily transitional from day to night.”

You can shop the set seen on KKW, along with other pieces from the current collection like this flirty pink and red tie-dye number and this chic white mini dress, here, but we would act quickly – Harriott says he has already noticed an increase in sales.
