The Met Gala may have been and gone, but King Charles’ coronation was an equally big stage for the royal family and other famous faces to show off their fashionable best.
From elegant gowns that ooze royal tradition, to powder pink skirt suits that err on the more daring side of fashion, and plenty in between, these are our picks of the best dressed guests at King Charles’ and Queen Camilla’s coronation.
Julie Bishop in Zimmermann
Former Australian politician Julie Bishop looked like springtime personified (and repped her country in the process) in a buttercup yellow dress by Zimmermann, and chic fascinator by Neridah Winter.
Jill Biden In Ralph Lauren And Finnegan Biden
Jill Biden made a case for periwinkle blue in an elegant skirt suit, with matching gloves. Her granddaughter, Finnegan, complemented her look in a sunshine yellow gown and cape, as well as a delicate floral headband.
Katy Perry in Vivienne Westwood
Katy Perry brought a touch of pink to the occasion, in a corseted skirt suit, opera gloves, and oversized fascinator, all by UK designer, Vivienne Westwood.
Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark
The Australian-born Princess of Denmark looked effortlessly regal in rich, all-over purple, paired with a veiled headpiece and a turquoise brooch.
Zara Tindall
Proving that blue really was the colour of the day, Zara Tindall, daughter of Princess Anne, nailed the dress code in a sky blue rendition of a royal favourite, the coat gown. She put her own spin on the look with a feathered headpiece and jewelled brooch.
Princess Charlotte
She might only be eight, but Princess Charlotte proved that she is following in her mother’s fashionable footsteps in a crisp white cape. Plus, making for an adorable matching moment, the young Princess emulated her mother’s beauty look with a diamond flower headpiece, and intricate braided hairstyle.
Olena Zelenska
She might not be royal, but Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska certainly looked the part in a coordinated overcoat and simple slip dress, both in a soft sage green. She finished the look with white heels, and delicate pearl jewellery.
Queen Letizia of Spain
Queen Letizia of Spain was one of few attendees to strike a peplum silhouette, and in none other than bright pink.
Lady Louise Windsor
In a sea of block colours, Lady Louise Windsor was one of few guests to opt for a printed dress. Despite the rainy weather, the young royal looked summery in a white gown printed with lilac flowers, and a matching lilac hat.
Queen Maxima
Queen Maxima of the Nethlerands cut an effortlessly chic silhouette in a Jan Taminiau dress and Gianvito Rossi stilettos.
Pippa Middleton
Another sunny yellow ensemble, this time on Pippa Middleton. The younger sister of the Princess of Wales paired her pastel coat dress with a matching fascinator.
Princess Catherine of Wales
Arguably the most highly-anticipated outfit of the coronation, Kate Middleton wore an ivory silk crepe gown designed by Alexander McQueen underneath her royal regalia. She also steered away from a traditional tiara, in favour of a diamond floral headpiece that isn’t from the official royal collection.
