There’s a reason why September is often considered the New Year’s of the fashion world-it’s a time to overhaul our style and resolve to wear heels a little higher and
jackets cut a little cooler. (Isn’t that what back-to-school shopping was for?) There’s so many styles and statement pieces (oh hey,
3.1 Phillip Lim’s top handle bag) this season, that we could never choose just one. So we asked some of our favourite
Canadian designers to do so instead. Here are their top must-have fashion picks for fall.
"In the fall I often find myself searching for a good pair of vegan boots that will stand up to Canadian winters but still be cute – not an easy find!"
-Hayley Gibson, designer, Birds of North America "NAFA furs."
-Travis Taddeo "A colour block cigarette pant. Any item that makes my must have list, must be versatile and can be styled many ways. This pant looks professional for work and when paired with our cape blouse makes a statement for a night out."
-Rachel Sin "A maxi chiffon skirt. It’s a great piece going from summer into fall because you can wear it with a tank and sandals in warm weather, and then pair it with opaque tights and a sweater in cooler weather."
-Sarah Stevenson
