We all have our style icons – those impossibly put together individuals of the real and fictional sort who continually breathe life into our own sartorial choices (what would the little black dress have been without
Holly Golightly?) So we polled a few of our favourite Canadian designers to share with us the muses who inspire them personally, and in the looks they create for everyone else.
"My ultimate style icon is James Bond."
-Christopher Bates "Mmmmm. I actually don’t have an ‘ultimate’ style icon. I couldn’t boil it down to one person… I get my inspiration from many people from different eras."
-Izzy Camilleri, designer, MIZ
What is the future of CANADIAN FASHION? "Kate Lanphear has always been someone I admire. I love how she puts it all together."
-Caitlin Power "Giovanna Battaglia."
-Matthew Gallagher, designer, Maison Matthew Gallagher "I can only think of one person right now and that’s Miroslava Duma, a Russian street style icon. She’s definitely the cool urban girl that Ashtiani represents."
-Golnaz Ashtiani
