CAFA-2014-DSquared-Coco-Rocha

DSquared2’s Dan and Dean Caten with mega model Coco Rocha, all CAFA 2014 winners. All photos courtesy of George Pimentel.

Saturday was snowy, sure, and windy, yes, but that didn’t stop Toronto’s fashion elite from trekking—
some, including editor-in-chief Noreen Flanagan, in six-inch heels—to the Royal York hotel for the first ever Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards. There was champagne; there were chandeliers. Coco Rocha was there, Yasmin Warsame too, and socialite Sylvia Mantella in a skin-tight gold gown.
ELLE’s beauty director Vanessa Craft wore custom DSquared2. It was MAJOR. I wore Nicholas Kirkwood for Erdem shoes. I felt amazing. We spotted dresses by Jeremy Laing, Greta Constantine and other bright lights in the Canadian style constellation. Here are the winners from CAFA 2014:
International Designer of the Year: Dean & Dan Caten of DSquared2
Womenswear Designer of the Year: Jeremy Laing
Menswear Designer of The Year: Travis Taddeo
Accessory Designer of The Year: Dexter & Byron Peart of WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie
