Our good news story of the day: Laura Siegel
, one of our favourite
Canadian designers, is now part of the fabled Holt Renfrew fashion stable. Select pieces from the Toronto designer’s refined boho Fall 2013 collection are now available at Holts in Calgary, Vancouver, and in Toronto on Bloor Street. This is MAJOR, especially considering Siegel only launched her line only two years ago.
In a 2011 "Ones to Watch" story, Siegel told us that she was inspired to launch her line during a backpacking trip in India. "That opened my eyes. Then I went to Peru and Bolivia, where artisans naturally dye yarn to handknit and crochet. In Southeast Asia, I met leathersmiths. I asked everyone I encountered ‘Can you teach me?’" It’s a testament to Siegel’s talent and hard work that she’s scored such a major coup so early in her career. Let’s all celebrate by going shopping this weekend. Win-win?
