It’s no secret—I heart anything do with the royals and
Kate Middleton. I love being up to date on her royal engagements, but most of all I am fascinated by what she wears. She’s not a big explorer of trends, but there’s no doubt that she has a following and is a fashion icon in the making. I don’t always love what she chooses, but her knack for recycling her wardrobe sets her apart (who would have thought a one-day-queen and member of the royal set would not only wear something more than once, but often more than twice?).
But there is one item that I love in Kate’s enviable closet (besides her collection of shimmery Jenny Packham gowns): her creamy white Alexander McQueen cotton and wool-blend piqué coat. She first sported it at last year’s Trooping of the Colour, and again for a
regal affair (Order of the Garter) with Prince William this week. And it’s official. It’s my dream coat. The colour, the nipped waist (which looks perfect on Kate’s ridiculously tiny mid-section), the pillowing pleats … Dreamy. In the words of Rachel Zoe … I die. Seriously, I kind of do when I see pictures of this coat. Sadly, much like anything the DoC wears, it’s sold out on
net-a-porter.com. But if it ever comes back in stock, my credit card will be waiting.
