We are extremely saddened to report that American designer L’Wren Scott was found dead in her Manhattan apartment this morning from an apparent suicide, according to police sources. She was 47. Scott was the girlfriend of Mick Jagger since the pair met in 2001, and she said that Jagger inspired her to launch her eponymous label in 2006. Scott quickly became know for her red carpet glamour, favoured by Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman and Angelina Jolie. Scott introduced a line of handbags, named Lula, after her mother, in 2011, and the following year, she designed the costumes for The Rolling Stones’s 50th anniversary tour. Most recently, Scott unveiled a holiday capsule collection for Bananna Republic last December. In February, she cancelled her Fall 2014 runway show at London Fashion Week, citing production delays in key pieces. Our deepest sympathies go out to her family, friends and colleagues.
