We’ve developed our own Actor’s Studio-inspired quiz for the directors, actors and writers who come into the ELLE Canada
photo studio during the
Whistler Film Festival. This afternoon,
Kim Cattrall, who is at the festival to receive the Maverick Award, showed up for a sitting with our talented photog
Evaan Kheraj. She was also celebrating the news that her series,
Sensitive Skin, with Don McKellar and Bob Martin, has just been picked up for another season. “It took me eight years to get it made, so for it to be such a big hit over the summer is so gratifying. Now that it has been picked up for a second season, it’s thrilling. We’re going to take the character Davina to places where no woman has ever gone before.”
Turn to read Kim’s answers to our #WFF14 Studio Quiz, including her definition of "fun box."

First off, do you ski? “Not now, but I’ve had a lot of exposure to skiing; that’s why I don’t ski anymore. My first husband was into skiing and just none of it worked.”
Who would be your ideal chairlift partner? Who would you push off? “You know, I would prefer to take the gondola by myself. What I’m finding at this point in my life is that the middle road is very gratifying. It’s not about love or hate; it’s more about like, and I think that it starts with you, so I’d like to go by myself.”
What is your favourite ski film?
Downhill Racer with Robert Redford. It was my first ski film—and perhaps my last.”
What’s your go-to swear word when you fall on the hill in front of children and when there’s no one around? “It would be ‘fuck’ for both…but under my breath, if children were around.”
Do you know what the following ski- and snowboard-related terms mean?
Durometer: “I have no idea.”
(Def: A measure of the hardness of a resin. Used to rate flexibility in snow boots.)
Pit zip: “No idea.”
(Def: A zipper under the arm in a ski jacket that lets cold air in.)
Fun box: “Yes, I know what that means. I think I own one. I think it’s part of my anatomy.”
(Def: The box that snowboarders use to slide across.)
