The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park
New York, the city that never sleeps, is also one where famous people flock to enjoy the best of the best—whether that’s food, shopping or R&R. Want to experience the ultra-glam version NYC that some of your favourite celebrities do? We visited six spots beloved by Hollywood’s A-List to give you a peek.

Offering breathtaking views of Central Park, the Ritz-Carlton is one of the city’s most prestigious hotels. The getaway embodies refinement with its sumptuous suites—the one where Kim Kardashian reportedly stays is 2,400 square feet—and impeccable service. There is even a secret entrance through which celebrities access the building. But it’s the hotel’s spa that really seals the luxurious deal. The first La Prairie Spa in the United States, guests can enjoy a range of exclusive treatments provided by attentive (and discreet) specialists.
The Tiffany & Co. Boutique on 5th Avenue: Luxury in its Purest Form
For a true Audrey Hepburn-style New York experience, head to the legendary Tiffany & Co. boutique on 5th Avenue. Just about any star with good taste shops here, whether it’s for a simple piece of jewellery or an exceptional statement piece—or for special occasions like the Oscars or Met Gala. The boutique, with its iconic façade and glittering windows, is a place where glamour reigns supreme.
The Philip Kingsley Trichological Clinic: Star-Worthy Hair Treatments
Having flawless hair is a celebrity necessity, and there’s perhaps no better place to achieve red carpet-worthy hair in New York than the Philip Kingsley Trichological Clinic. Located on East 52nd Street, this spot is renowned for its custom hair treatments that condition and enhance hair, and specializes in hair loss and scalp care in particular. An appointment here pretty much guarantees leaving with a head of hair as sumptuous as the biggest stars.
Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle: Timeless Elegance
Bemelmans Bar, located within The Carlyle, a Rosewood Hotel, is another gem favoured by celebrities. This bar is a tribute to the luxury of the 1940s—its walls are decorated with frescoes created by Ludwig Bemelmans, the author of Madeline. The live music, elegant cocktails and cozy atmosphere make it an ideal place for a discreet evening, away from prying eyes. You might even come across Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sipping a martini in a cozy corner here when they’re in town.
A Hidden Speakeasy: The Thrilling Experience
For a touch of mystery, there’s nothing like a hidden speakeasy—secret bars reminiscent of the Prohibition era. Although there are several in New York, one of the most popular among celebrities is Please Don’t Tell (PDT). Hidden behind a telephone booth in a fast-food restaurant in the East Village, this bar is one of the hardest to get into in NYC. Inside, an intimate and cozy atmosphere welcomes those who have managed to pass through the secret door. The cocktails are created by renowned mixologists, and the place is perfect for escaping the paparazzi while enjoying an exquisite drink.
Emilio’s Ballato: Taylor Swift’s Favourite Restaurant in New York
Nestled in New York’s vibrant Nolita neighborhood, Emilio’s Ballato is more than just an Italian restaurant—it’s a place full of history and charm, leading it to become a favourite haunt of many celebrities, including Taylor Swift. Founded in the 1950s, Emilio’s Ballato remains true to its Italian roots, with recipes passed down from generation to generation. The restaurant is known for its homemade pasta dishes, richly flavoured sauces and generous portions. The interior, decorated with framed photos of cinema and music icons, offers an intimate and nostalgic atmosphere.
