With many of us now working from home, the scramble to find a clean corner of our living quarters seconds before an office-wide video-conference call is a common reality. Whether you’re hiding a mountain of dirty dishes, piles of unfolded laundry, unruly children or if you are simply a private individual, there is no need to expose your humble (or not-so-humble) dwelling. We combed through the ELLE Canada print archives to find the chicest backdrops for every virtual gathering on your schedule.

To upload a custom backdrop to Zoom, do the following: save the below images to your desktop. When you’re on a call in the Zoom app, click the arrow beside “stop video” and a list of options will appear. Click “choose virtual background,” then on the “+” sign to upload an image. Voila! You are no longer in a messy one-bedroom apartment in Toronto’s west end, you are in the Maharaja’s private palace in Jaipur. Enjoy.
