Prince William has a new portrait…and it’s “interesting”
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder – and quite frankly, we’re not really sure what it is we’re beholding in this new portrait of Prince William. (Like – is it actually him? Is it even human?)
The new royal portrait, released today in London, is the work of a Welsh artist named Dan Llywelyn Hall (who is unapologetic, by the way). It’s entitled "Fatherhood", and is released in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the start of WW1 (hence the poppy). This is what we know for sure. But there are so many unanswered questions raised by this…perplexing…image. What is Wills looking at off-canvas that makes him look so frightened? (
George with a lego block, in hand?) Is that an ear-plug in his left ear? And what’s with the unseen hand, reaching around his neck?
