Will Young has announced a tour of English forests for next year.

The ‘Jealousy’ singer is set to perform outdoor concerts in wooded across England next summer as part of the UK’s Forestry Commission Live Music series.

Will said: “The forest gigs have a great reputation for their atmosphere so I’m really looking forward to performing my songs in such unique settings.”

The shows will are part of an independent programme bringing music to audiences without either commercial branding or sponsorship and all income generated from ticket sales is then spent on improving the forests for visitors.

Will is not the only star to be staging shows in woodlands next year, as soul singer and rapper Plan B has also announced seven similar shows, also in association with the Forestry Commission.

He said of the plans: “It’s going to be a real adventure taking the Plan B show into the woods. I’m really up for this.”

Tickets for Plan B’s tour dates are on sale now, while Will’s will be available from December 16.
