The Wanted are to release an album in the US.
The five-piece boyband – who last week scored a number two hit in the iTunes chart with ‘Glad You Came’ – are planning on capitalising on their recent Stateside success by releasing their first record in America next month.
Writing on their twitter page, the group – made up of Max George, Jay McGuiness, Siva Kaneswaran, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes – said: ”Great news, America: We are thrilled to announce we will be releasing our first U.S. album on April 24!! Stay tuned for details. (sic)”
Jay has previously explained the band’s debut US album is likely to comprise material from their first and second UK records, ‘The Wanted’ and ‘Battleground’.
He said: ”My guess would be we’ll take some songs from the first album, some from the second and add some new ones in too, just so everyone is on the same page.”
Meanwhile, Tom admitted The Wanted’s rise to fame in the US has been ”absolutely crazy.
He recently explained: ”Things have gone absolutely crazy. I can’t believe it. We always wanted that aim to go and do it in America.
”We did under the radar [in the U.K.] and it’s kind of going back to the old traditional way that boy bands and bands used to do it, I suppose. It feels good and we’re doing it old school.”
