The Libertines Carl Barat and Pete Doherty have been hanging out together.

The co-frontmen of the band posted a picture of them together on twitter, sparking excitement relations between have got better and they could get their band back together again.

Alongside the picture, Carl tweeted: “Just spent the day with me ol. Tickety bibble x (sic).”

He later added: “Oh, and by the way, Peter doesn’t have a twitter (sic).”

The Libertines – which also includes John Hassall and Gary Powell – originally split in 2004, but reunited in 2010 for a pair of shows at the Reading and Leeds festivals in England.

They played down rumours of a full scale reunion however, and earlier this year, Carl alleged his fractious relationship with Pete Doherty was prevented this from happening.

In May he said: “Right now there is no Libertines future. We are all in very different places. Right now is not the time for The Libertines. I thought the water under the bridge was under the bridge, but maybe it’s not. It’s a very f***ing hard thing. Every time we talk it just brings it back up.”

Pete has recently been released from prison after serving two months of a six-month sentence for drugs offences. He is due to embark on a tour later this summer as a solo artist.
