It’s Super Bowl Sunday, but for many of us, the Shakira and Jennifer Lopez halftime show was the main event. Both singers were first-time Super Bowl performers and they definitely upped the ante for future artists. The choreography, song selection (All. The. Hits.) and theatrics were the perfect Super Bowl LIV entertainment. Here are some of the most memorable moments from their show at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Shakira’s Major Rockstar Energy

Shakira is a force to be reckoned with, as proven several times throughout her performance. She absolutely shredded her guitar during “Empire,” (featuring a symphony orchestra; we love the contrast), played the drums for JLo on “Let’s Get Loud” and crowd surfed for “Hips Don’t Lie.”

Jennifer Lopez’s Hustlers Nod

JLo was snubbed by the Oscars for her performance as Ramona in Hustlers. However, justice was served tonight when she emerged on the Super Bowl stage on a pole, singing her classic track “Jenny from the Block.” She later returned to the pole clad in a silver bodysuit for “Waiting for Tonight,” reminding audiences all over the world that she really is that good — and that we all aspire to have that kind of endurance at age 50.

A Bruce Springsteen Cover and a Political Statement

Politics were not left out of the performance. JLo appeared draped in a large Puerto Rican flag, singing “Born in the U.S.A.” by Bruce Springsteen mashed up with “Let’s Get Loud.” Lopez was backed by children, including her daughter, Emme.
