Snow Patrol drummer Jonny Quinn is going skiing on Christmas day.

The ‘Called out in the Dark’ musician is heading to Norway with his wife to celebrate the festive holiday and while he will hit the slopes on December 25, he admits he’s not a natural at the winter sport.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “I am going to Norway because my wife is from there. We went to Belfast last year, we take it in turns. In Norway we go to a cabin in the woods with all of her family and we go skiing on Christmas Day.

“You literally ski out of the front door and all of the kids fly past me and laugh at how slow I am.”

After the Christmas day celebrations are over, Jonny will reconvene in his native Northern Ireland with at least one of his bandmates, Nathan Connolly, to see 2013 arrive.

He added: “I think Nathan our guitarist is having a New Years Eve party so we’ll go to that. He only lives around the corner so it’s very handy for us.”
