Snoop Dogg and Run DMC have paid tribute to Tupac Shakur on the 15th anniversary of his death.

‘Sweat’ rapper Snoop and Reverend Run of the New York hip hop group both took to twitter to pay tribute to the rap star, who was shot dead in a gang related killing in Las Vegas on September 13, 2006 aged 25.

Snoop wrote: “Moment of Silence for Tupac Shakur”

Reverend Run said: “RIP Tupac. I often wonder what the Tupac twitter feed would read like if he was still with us #thingsthatmakeyougohmmm”

The ‘California Love’ hitmaker’s estate also issued a statement about his passing, saying he would have wanted to inspire today’s younger generation with his work.

The statement to vibe.com read: “It was Tupac’s greatest wish to inspire minds and spark the ideas that would change the world.”

Tupac’s biological father, William Garland, also recently paid tribute to his son, saying: “Tupac cared for people. That was his main thing. He really cared for people. I think that’s why he would get so upset when people tried to question his commitment, his love for Black women or Black men.”
