Wiley should always be respected for his achievements with Roll Deep, according to Boy Better Know’s Shorty.
The grime musician believes people can never say anything against the 33-year-old rapper – who’s biggest solo hit was ‘Wearing My Rolex’ in 2008 – because he helped take his garage collective all the way to fame.
Speaking at the launch of the PlayStation Vita console on London’s Oxford Street last night (17.02.12), Shorty exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ”Wiley took Roll Deep so far up so you can never say anything about them or him. He always demands respect and so do they. We’re all mates and we appreciate their stuff.”
Shorty revealed Boy Better Know – a loose collective of various rappers – are currently working on a follow-up to their 2011 album ‘Short Notice’ – and he confirmed they have many guest stars.
He added: ”We are all working on an album at the moment. We are all really tight so it’s all good. Everyone’s involved.
”The album is going to be the same kind of style as before. There’s no point changing something if it’s successful. I can’t wait to give our fans something new as it’s been too long.”
Radio 1 DJs Chris Moyles and Tim Westwood took to the decks and battled it out at the PlayStation Vita launch, which was also attended by Roll Deep’s Flow Dan, music promoter Jammer and footballer Carlton Cole.
The PlayStation Vita Rooms will be open to the public everyday from today (17.02.12) until February 22. PlayStation Vita, the next generation console, will be released on the 22nd February.
