Radiohead have announced a string of live dates for 2012.

The band will kick off their first US tour since 2008 in Miami on February 27, just over a year after the release of their last album ‘The King of Limbs’.

Support for the 10 concerts will come from Oklahoma rockers Other Lives.

Further American dates, as well as other shows worldwide, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the group are auctioning off a signed guitar to raise money for a child stricken by an inoperable brain tumour.

Guitarist Ed O’Brien donated the instrument – which was used during the recording of their albums ‘Kid A’ and ‘Amnesiac’ and carries the signatures of all five members – to the Billie Butterfly Fund, which is trying to generate funds to pay for four-year-old Billie Brainbridge to receive treatment in Texas that is not available in the UK.

The guitar comes with a handwritten authenticity note from Ed which says: “It was bought in the summer of ’98, just prior to us going into record the albums which came out as ‘Kid A’ and ‘Amnesiac’. It was pretty much the only guitar I used at that time. It’s also been gigged a lot, up to and including the ‘In Rainbows’ tour.”

A representative for the fund said: “It’s an unbelievably generous gesture from Ed, hopefully the guitar will end up with a big Radiohead fan.”

Bidding for the guitar is now open on auction site eBay and currently stands at almost £8,000.
