Pearl Jam will headline the Isle of Wight festival.

The ‘Even Flow’ group join Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty for an all American bill of headliners at the event, which runs from June 22 to 24 on the island, just off the British mainland, next year.

Fans immediately took to twitter to share their excitement, with user Stories From The Pit writing: “Petty, Pearl Jam and Springsteen as headliners – this festival was made for me (sic).”

P_J Updates tweeted: “IOW2012 is going to be EPIC! “@IsleOfWightFest: PEARL JAM to headline Saturday night on the main stage….#IOW2012 (sic)”

Other acts already on the bill include Elbow, Biffy Clyro and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Noah and the Whale, The Vaccines and Madness.

Of their addition, Madness singer Suggs said: “At last, we’ve been wanting to play the Isle of Wight Festival for ages now, the perfect way to start our summer.”
