Paramore have begun recording new material.

The ‘Ignorance’ group’s frontwoman, Hayley Williams – who has recently steered the band through a bitter split from guitarist and drummer brothers Josh and Zac Farro – revealed the remaining members of the band, which also includes Taylor York and Jeremy Davis, are working on a “couple” of new songs at a recording studio in Los Angeles.

She wrote on twitter: “Just got a call from Taylor.

“He and [Davis] just touched down in Los Angeles! We’re recording a couple new songs this week (sic)!”

It will be the first time the band have prepared new material since the Farro brothers quit last December, but despite this setback, Hayley has previously revealed the group are preparing to tour and play new music this summer.

She said: “We are going to go to South America to do a tour, and then when we get back, we’re hoping to record a batch of songs to release over the summer.

“All the details aren’t worked out yet, but we definitely do want to release our new track ‘In the Mourning’ and some other ones before we put out a record.”

The Farro brothers are now in new band Novel American together. They quit after claiming they were “always treated as less important” than singer Hayley, and claiming she wrote “negative” lyrics.
