Noel Gallagher was star-struck when he met Sir Paul McCartney.

The High Flying Birds frontman was in Milan, Italy, this weekend ahead of a concert on Monday (28.11.11), and managed to catch The Beatles legend performing in the city.

He wrote on his blog: “We went straight to some arena or other to see Paul McCartney. Somewhat predictably he was mega – as always.

“He’s got ALL the tunes, innit!!! Actually managed to get to say hello to him before the show!!! What a treat. I’m like a small boy when s**t like that happens. And he’s a true gentleman. The f**kin’ daddy (sic)!”

Noel admitted he found playing in Milan made him “a bit emotional” and he even ended up crying on live TV.

He added: “And to the gig – my gig. Just got back from it actually. A special night. These Italian kids really do know how to get the hairs on your neck to stand up. And they ARE just kids, most of ’em (sic).

“I don’t mind telling you it got a bit emotional in places. Birds crying, and that!! Didn’t make for the best singing I’ve ever done but. Y’know, I apologise for that.

“Just my blimmin’ luck it was going out LIVE on TV. Bugger – Oh well. It was a great night, all the same (sic).”
