Martin Solveig jumped at the chance to work with Madonna because ”she’s the queen.”
The French DJ and producer worked on the singer’s latest album ‘MDNA’, producing its first single ‘Give Me all Your Luvin’, and took the chance to hook up as soon as he was offered.
He said: ”Her manager called me and of course I went for it immediately. She’s the queen and she’s a fantastic person and artist to collaborate with and I’m really, really proud of ‘MDNA’.”
Martin thinks Madonna was attracted to him because he is influenced by a wide range of artists, from past to present.
He said: ”I’d say my big classic artists are The Beatles and then Michael Jackson, Prince, Nirvana and Lenny Kravitz.
”My current artists are Miike Snow, Foster the People, and Gwen Stefani because I think she’s still very ‘now’. She hasn’t released a lot lately but I’m expecting.”
‘Hello’ star Martin also offered advice to any young stars hoping to become superstar DJs like himslef.
He told Joonbug.com: ”Be original, be yourself. Don’t replicate something that already exists because then you will always be behind. That is what can take you very, very high.”
