Joss Stone took less than week to record her new album.

The 24-year-old singer – who was recently the subject of an alleged kidnap plot – recorded ‘Lp1’ in six days with former Eurythmics star Dave Stewart and had a “brilliant” time making the record.

She said: “I had lots of fun making it with Dave. We went to Nashville for like six days and at that end of that jam we found an album in there which is quite cool.

“It’s because the band was so tight and the studio was so brilliant. They had so many people in there making sure everything was sorted, so many brilliant people involved. Dave was like, ‘Look come over here, it will take a week, we’ll have a laugh. If you don’t like it you don’t have to use it. This band is great, I’ve worked with them, they’ve got a week free,’ and I was like, ‘That sounds like fun.’

Though Joss is a huge Eurythmics fan, she insists she wasn’t intimidated working with Dave because she has known him for such a long time.

She told website PopEater: “Was I intimidated? No because I’ve known Dave for ages now but I was at first. I first met Dave when I was 16 and I was pretty much intimidated by everything. I listened to Annie Lennox all the time.

“My mum and dad listened to her all the time, they have good taste luckily. So yeah with Dave it was like, ‘Oh my God you did that record? Wow, that’s amazing.’ “
