Surprise! After nearly two years away from the music biz, Ed Sheeran is back—and he’s just dropped two new tracks.

After taking a bit of time away from the game to travel the world / hang with BFF Taylor Swift, the British singer just announced that he’s ready to release a new album shortly, and while we wait, has given us not one but two singles (see below). In the few hours that they’ve been out, the songs have racked up over a million views each.

One of the singles “Shape of You” was originally written by Sheeran for Rihanna to sing, but as he told BBC Radio1 this morning:

“But then I was singing some of the lyrics and was like Rihanna is not going to sing these words so kept it to myself.”

The music—which Sheeran says has actually been ready to go since September—was recorded in a special studio he had built on a boat he was using to do those above-mentioned world travels.

The second simultaneous released single is what Sheeran is calling a “love letter” to his home county of Suffolk in the UK, and the video actually stars a guy he went to school with.

The new album will be called ÷ aka Divide, which follows on from his similarly mathematically monikered previous records + and x.
