N-Dubz Dappy is recording a ballad with Adele’s songwriter.

The rapper is launching his solo career and wants to prove he can sing with a “huge” ballad, which he is writing with Eg White; who worked on hits including ‘Chasing Pavements’ by the soul singer.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m going to work with Eg White who does Adele’s stuff. I want a big ballad like her. She really inspired me.

“I’ve got a voice so I want to make sure I do something huge on the piano. I want to do an ‘Angels’ like Robbie Williams.”

Dappy has said how thinks his solo album will be a rap landmark, because he’s doing all of the vocals himself.

He said: “Lots of people who rap get people to sing on their hooks, but when I release my stuff they won’t be able to do that anymore.

“They’ll have to sing on the record by themselves. They can’t get Chris Brown or whoever to do it for them. They have to sing and rap on the track themselves as that’s what I’m doing. I’m M-singing not MCing.”

N-Dubz – which also includes singer Tulisa and producer Fazer – are currently on a break, with Dappy the first member to launch a solo track, ‘No Regrets’, which comes out on September 18.
