Chris Brown is like Calvin Harris’ “best friend”, even though he accused him of stealing one of his songs.

Scottish DJ Calvin had expressed his upset after hearing Chris’ single ‘Yeahx3’, as he felt it bared a strong resemblance to his own track, ‘I’m Not Alone’.

They resolved their differences, however, after Chris called him up.

Calvin told BBC Newsbeat: “He was gutted about the whole situation. Once he heard the original he was like, ‘Wow. OK,’ and sorted it out. He gave me half that track.

“He released ‘Beautiful People’ and now I just love him because that is a tune. We’re fine. We’re great. Chris Brown’s like my best friend now.”

It is not clear what if by “half” the track, Calvin was referring to a writing credit or royalties.

Calvin’s issues with the song started last year when he tweeted: “Choked on my cornflakes when I heard new Chris Brown single this morning.”

He then said he had received online abusive messages from fans, before added: “Because Chris Brown is an international celebrity doesn’t make it OK to rip off a guy from UK not many people have heard of.”
