Cheryl Cole has cancelled her live comeback performance.

The ‘Promise This’ singer has been forced to pull out of a planned duet with Take That star Gary Barlow at the Children In Need Rocks concert in Manchester, North West England, on Thursday (17.11.11) after contracting throat condition pharyngitis.

A spokesman for the Girls Aloud beauty said: “Cheryl Cole has sadly had to pull out of a performance at CIN Rocks this week as she is suffering from pharyngitis.”

The charity show was to be Cheryl’s first scheduled live performance this year and she had picked Gary out of all the acts scheduled to perform to duet with.

Gary said: “I wouldn’t have asked Cheryl to duet with me because I’m a gentleman. So I said to her: ‘Do you fancy doing something? Take your pick. We’ve got Coldplay, you can duet with anyone.’

“And she said: ‘Well, what about you? I fancy doing something with you.”

As well as Gary and Coldplay, the concert will see sets from Ed Sheeran, JLS, Elbow, N-Dubz, Hugh Laurie, Snow Patrol, Michael Buble and Lady Gaga.

The official Children In Need group, The Collective, which features Gary’s fellow UK ‘X Factor’ judge Tulisa Contostavlos, will also perform on the night.
