Honestly, it’s weird that Sam Smith has only just done now done an episode of Carpool Karaoke, because if ever there’s a song for belting alone in your car on a rainy evening, it’s his hit “Stay With Me”.

But at last, in honour of his new album The Thrill Of It All, the sad-song-singing Brit hopped in James Corden’s ride for a delightful, remarkably on key 15 minutes of his greatest hits, a Fifth Harmony cameo (?!) and a revelation of an…interesting way to spice up his wedding.

As you’ll hear in the video below, Smith has it all planned out: Immediately before his wedding ceremony, he wants to hold a “funeral” for Single Sam, complete with a photo montage of his greatest solo moments. He’ll then leap of the coffin he’s lying in (did we forget to mention that?), in a white suit, and get the actual wedding party started.
