Liam Gallagher is set to embark on his first post-Oasis concerts.

The singer will take his new band, Beady Eye – who recently previewed their first song ‘Bring The Light’ through their website – on the road across the UK in March next year.

The band sees the singer team up with his ex-Oasis bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock and they will be joined for live shows by Ultrasound’s Matt Jones on keyboards and Jeff Wootton, who has previously played with Gorillaz, on bass.

The band kick off their dates in Glasgow on March 3 before playing in Manchester and London.

Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan last week said he’d heard the group’s debut album, describing it as “fantastic”.

He said: “I heard Liam’s album about three months ago. It’s fantastic and it’s not Oasis anymore, its Liam’s band. I support him all the way with that.”

Oasis split up last summer after a fall out between Liam and his brother Noel Gallagher – the band’s guitarist and main songwriter – and while his brother has been preparing his new group, Noel has already appeared live, playing two shows at the Royal Albert Hall last year in aid of charity Teenage Cancer Trust.

Noel did not, however, preview any new songs – although he is said to be working on a solo album.

Tickets for Beady Eye’s UK tour go on sale on November 26, and are available from November available through www.beadyeyemusic.com
