Beady Eye released their debut track ‘Bring The Light’ as a free download today (10.11.10).

The song is a 60s rock ‘n’ roll-inspired number driven by a blues piano riff with echoes of the Rolling Stones and The Beatles and features female backing dancers accompanying frontman Liam Gallagher.

Lyrics include: “I bring the light, you get to see / you bring the love, it’s ecstasy / I see no point in what you’re thinking / I’m going out I’m taking you drinking.

“I’m standing tall well f***ing tough / it’s just your way, you hear me wrong / I hear you say you’re getting up, getting up.”

Initial responses to the song have been positive with NME.com describing it as “a seize-the-moment anthem about love and booze . that and is based on a hammering rock n’roll riff.”

The track is the first release by Liam’s new band – which is also comprised of Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock – since Oasis split in August 2009 following the departure of guitarist Noel Gallagher.

It is the first song from Beady Eye’s upcoming debut album – which the band have recorded with producer Steve Lillywhite – and is available from the band’s website www.beadyeyemusic.co.uk.
