Luxury Italian brand Bottega Veneta has opened its first Canadian flagship boutique, at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre, just in time for the holidays. Think 437 square metres of glorious leather goods (handbags! luggage! shoes!) for both you and your loved ones. Or just you.

Question: What happens when you combine two of fashion’s current obsessions—nostalgia and logomania? Answer: Fendi’s latest capsule collection. You had us at “butler service.” St. Regis, which pretty much invented the luxury-hotel game, has opened in Toronto, its first Canadian location. In addition to your own personal Mr. Carson, the hotel offers a full itinerary of extras, from nightly champagne sabering to swish spa treatments to afternoon tea to all the whisky you could want at LOUIX LOUIS, the opulent 31st-floor bar. You may never leave the hotel.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…for your social life. But holiday parties and holiday boozing and holiday snacking (we love/hate you, Nanaimo bars) can leave skin puffy and dehydrated. Academy Award-winner Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity) is making the move to Netflix. The director's latest, Roma, is a semi-autobiographical story that follows Cleo (Yalitza Aparicio), a live-in domestic worker for a middle-class family in 1970s Mexico City. The black-and-white Spanish-language film—which hits the streaming service on Dec. 14—is said to be Cuarón's most personal project to date. See you at the Oscars.

No one else sounds like Jessie Reyez, so we couldn’t possibly pass up the chance to catch the homegrown talent when she caps off her North American tour with dates in Montreal, London and Toronto. The only thing that could make the night better? An appearance by Reyez’s friend and fellow Torontonian Daniel Caesar. Daniel, if you’re reading this…
