The trailer for Angelina Jolie’s latest directorial effort is here and it looks GOOD. Majorly intense, yes, but really, really gripping.

The film—which Ange also co-wrote—is based on the best-selling memoir of a young girl’s experiences during the Khmer Rouge dictatorship in Cambodia in the 1970’s. The subject matter looks heavy (but so important!) and based on the trailer, it looks to be beautifully shot.

First They Killed My Father will make its world premiere on Netflix September 15, but you can also catch it in theatres on that same day too.

Fun fact: Maddox Jolie-Pitt is credited as an executive producer on this.
