It was literally a festival of fashion film fun in downtown Calgary this past weekend as the Canadian International Fashion Film Festival took over the Le Germain Hotel for its annual celebration of all things, well, fashion film. (Can we use the phrase ‘fashion film’ any more times?!)

The festival, in its second year, handed out prizes to 13 different films from six different countries. The winner of the best overall fashion film was Luca Finotti’s We Believe In the Power of Love, while Kyle Travis & Zenon Turczyn took the top Canadian honour for Pulchritudinous Genesis. Along with screening these fashion films, the festival included panels and specially curated programming by industry heavy-weights like Showstudio’s head of fashion film Raquel Couceiro and co-founder of the Berlin Fashion Film Festival Niccolo Montonari, live music from Canadian band Command Sisters, and of course, all-you-can-eat popcorn.
