The Chanel Women Writers’ Network has officially launched as a multi-year philanthropic partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). This year-round program has been designed to advance the careers of Canadian women and non-binary finalists following their participation in the TIFF Writers’ Studio.

The Chanel Women Writers’ Network is an added extension of the brand’s rich cinematic history and its commitment to highlighting women in the arts.

This new partnership supports emerging screenwriters and directors by providing funding, as well as an opportunity to establish connections within a diverse network of creators.

The program includes access to script consultants and senior screenwriters, peer-to-peer sessions with filmmakers and a talent summit that will allow screenwriters to showcase their work to producers in the industry. The network will also provide TIFF Writers’ Studio alumni with access to the TIFF Bell Lightbox workspace and award grants to four participants to further the development of their own feature films.

With initiatives ranging from the restoration and preservation of cinematic masterpieces, to programs and sponsorships that empower women and inspire the next generation of storytellers, this initiative adds to Chanel’s notable contributions to sustaining the vitality of film, right here in Canada.
