A Downton Abbey Movie Is Happening
The main cast is set to return.
It’s happening! The Downton Abbey movie is officially a go!
The original cast (including Maggie Smith, our fave Dowager Countess) is set to return for the big-screen feature. According to TVLine, the movie was written by series creator Julian Fellowes and will be directed by Brian Percival, who directed the series’ very first episode.

Production on the film begins this summer. No further info—including plot details or when we’ll actually get to see the movie in theatres—have been announced.
