Because we aren’t (really) terrible people, first let us say that today’s royal engagement was the sort of solemn occasion where the focus should (deservedly) be on the men and women it was dedicated to remembering. Which is why is was really unfair of
Kate Middleton, who joined the rest of the royal clan at a service in memory of the Afghan conflict, to have a really chic new hairstyle debut today.
Kate, who generally loves a good, glossy blowout or maybe a few loose curls on her wilder days, paired a navy Beulah London coat with a seriously elegant side bun, just visible beneath the brim of her tilted topper. (We’re going out on a limb and saying this may be the first of all of Kate’s hats we might actually wear…) Completing the ensemble were some dark suede pumps and a pair of blinged out earrings that seem to match her famous sapphire engagement ring.
