Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan, Bradley Cooper among 2015 Tony nominees
The nominations are out for the 2015 edition of everyone’s favourite all singing, all dancing awards show! So who among the A-list received a nod for their stage work this year?
In the "best leading actress in a play" we find quite a few names belonging to ladies who’ve shone on the small screen—
Mad Men’s Elizabeth Moss,
The Affair’s Ruth Wilson—along with a person with the monopoly on playing our sovereign, Helen Mirren. (She’s nominated for the playing the Queen in The Audience, not to be confused with the movie role that won her an Oscar a few years back. Same monarch, different day). Carey Mulligan (Kitty Bennett in
Pride and Prejudice, also nominated for an Oscar) is on the short list for her role in "Skylight". The other Hollywood notable on the list is one Bradley Cooper, who can now add "nominated for best leading actor in a play" to his resume (although we’d still lead with your French fluency, Brad). The winners will be announced on June 7, hosted by Alan Cumming and Kristen Chenoweth…who just so happens to have picked up a nomination of her own this year!
