'Tis the season.

It’s officially the holiday season and that means one thing: food.
Maybe your little cousin is has just committed to plant-based meals, or maybe you’re just tired of the same dishes every year. Either way, you may need more than a classic turkey this year. Here are six vegan recipes (all in YouTube form, so they’ll be much more fun/helpful than reading from a page…or screen) we’re dying to try. Get ready to impress all your friends and fam.
Appetizers: Artichoke Dip, Vegan Spanakopita and Mushroom Crostini
Good appetizers are a must for any holiday party. Here’s a spin on three staples from vegan YouTuber favourite (and fellow Canadian) The Edgy Veg that look so delicious, you might want to double the recipe so you can keep a bunch for yourself.
Main: Whole Roasted Cauliflower Skillet
Canadian YouTuber Lauren Toyota (a.k.a hot for food, who specializes in vegan comfort food) elevates her roasted cauliflower recipe by injecting a savoury gravy made from soy sauce, maple syrup, tahini and Worcestershire into the veg. You won’t miss the turkey.
Main: Vegan Beet Wellington
If cauliflower’s not your thing (or you just need to switch it up), this beet and mushroom Wellington—courtesy of the Irish twins/chefs/authors behind The Happy Pear—is a fun twist on a British classic and definitely worth the effort.
Side: Stuffing
Is it really a holiday meal if there’s no stuffing involved? We think not. Thankfully, blogger/Canadian YouTuber Lisa Le has a simple alternative over at her channel, The Viet Vegan.
Side: Maple Acorn Squash Stuffed with Rice and Lentils
Vegan blogger Caitlin Shoemaker’s seasonal squash bowls are colourful, tasty and so easy to make, you’ll be tempted to cook them up outside of your festive feasts as well.
Dessert: Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls
You know when you’re so full from a huge holiday meal that you think you couldn’t possibly eat another bite? But then someone brings a dessert out that’s so Insta-worthy you just have to indulge? This year, that’ll be Nova Scotian YouTuber Liv B.’s totally festive cinnamon rolls.
