This week’s installment of #flowermonday is brought to you by
The Stem Flower Market—and hands up if you’re feeling the amazing (almost) neon colour palette?!
Lisa Gentle opened The Stem on Toronto’s Dundas St. West almost a year ago today. (Their official anniversary is June 8—congrats!) Before turning her talents to all things floral, Lisa was a fashion designer and stylist. She’s obviously all about the blooms, but, lately, succulents have captured her imagination: "We have them in terrariums and use them in arrangements and wedding bouquets. We did a terrarium workshop with kids for Mother’s Day and the kids had a blast; they got super-creative with it!" One of the unique things about The Stem is in the name. To keep her arrangements accessible and affordable, Lisa charges "by the stem," which means every bouquet is different. There is one bit of foliage you are pretty likely to see, though: "The thistle is a flower I can’t seem to live without these days. It has sort of become our signature."
