Somewhere beneath the towering office blocks of Toronto’s downtown core, you’ll find the team at
Pistil Flowers, bringing a much-need shot of green into the bustling network of stores and restaurants underground in the Financial District. And this week, they sent some autumn cheer up to to the ELLE Canada offices for the first official #flowermonday of fall! What was the inspiration behind this bouquet? Rich berry tones and a whole lot of texture: Velvety celosia, "hyde-esque" anthiriums and ruffled dahlias are our feature flowers in this arrangement.
What are you looking forward to about fall? Fall is the start of ALL holidays to be celebrated! Our team at Pistil is looking forward to creating stunning floras for everything from intimate dinner parties to grand, elaborate holiday celebrations!
Any Thanksgiving floral table decoration tips? Thanksgiving is a great time to highlight the bountiful harvest! Add beautiful squashes, plums, apples, vines, berries.. even lychee fruits to accompany your florals.
What’s your favourite flower? Hard to say, we change floral favourites all the time but our current favourite is the castor bean pods!! Gorgeous texture and colour!
What’s the best flower gift you’ve ever received? Why? My favourite floral gift I’ve received is an exotic Cattleya orchid plant. Extremely fragrant and unexpected!

Pistil Flowers joined the underground city in First Canadian Place in 2010 and we have grown to 2 retail shops in the financial district! We are known for contemporary approach to flowers and our unique selection of terrariums and exotic orchids. We are also extremely busy with our ever growing workshops which are highly engaging and educational. They run all year long.
