ELLE First: Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift are in a Twitter war, and a Jenner graduates high school
It’s Thursday. Here’s what you need to know.
Katy Perry wades into the Minaj x Swift Twitter war
Brief recap: Nicki Minaj took to tweeting yesterday to blast the VMA’s for not nominating her…enough. “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year” To which Taylor Swift replied: “It’s unlike you to pit women against each other.” Now Katy Perry (and rumoured non-fan of Swift) has weighed in with this tweet: “Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman…” This feels a lot like Bad Blood to us, y’all…but less fun.
Another fall ad campaign, another sister modelling duo
We can safely call it: 2015 is the year of the sibling, at least when it comes to fashion campaigns (Kendall/Kylie, Bella/Gigi etc). The latest pair of lovely sisters to front an ad campaign are Dree and Langley Fox Hemingway for Tiffany. Other faces for the iconic jeweller’s fall campaign include Doutzen Croes and her son Phyllon, and model besties Imaan Hammam.
Kylie Jenner is finished high school
When not walking red carpets/and or fronting ad campaigns (see above), or changing her hair , the youngest Jenner is just a regular kid, who goes to school and stuff. In fact, she just graduated! Kylie tweeted out that her last day of school was last week, and that “just because I don’t tweet out when I’m in class doesn’t mean I don’t value education.”
Sharknado 3 happened
Last night was the premiere of the third installment in the so-bad-it’s-really-bad “Sharknado” franchise. It was basically the only topic of conversation on Twitter, and the general consensus was that it lived up to its subtitle “Oh, hell no!”
