The Trudeaus’ upcoming state dinner at the White House isn’t your average dinner party. It’s a black-tie affair where diplomatic relationships are forged over wine and a meal that probably cost more than your month’s paycheque.
And while our new leader and his wife Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, are already tight with the Obamas, it’s custom to come bearing gifts. Given that PMs in the past have kinda #failed at this – Harper once gave First Lady Michelle a bracelet with maple leafs and pine cone charms (sigh) – ELLE Canada editors have come up with some highly fashionable and fabulous presents.
