Despite the coronavirus pandemic forcing many couples to rearrange or outright cancel their 2020 wedding plans, Princess Beatrice and her now-husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were married in a small, safe ceremony in Windsor, England, today, adhering to COVID-19 safety regulations.

“The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11 a.m .on Friday 17th July at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement, as published by the BBC.

“The small ceremony was attended by the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and close family. The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant government guidelines.”

The couple got engaged in Italy back in September 2019, and were originally set to wed on May 29 at the Chapel Royal, St James Palace, in London.

Modified wedding ceremonies have been permitted in England since July 4, with a limit of 30 guests – a far cry from the approximate 850 guests who attended Princess Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie’s wedding in 2018.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
