It’s one of the most iconic (and poignant) images of Diana: The Princess of Wales seated on a bench by herself in front of one of the world’s most opulent landmarks to love…as her own marriage was unravelling behind-the-scenes.

Fast forward a decade or two, and Prince William will be following in his mother’s foosteps for a hopefully happier visit to the Taj Mahal. The schedule for Will and Kate’s visit to India this April was just released, and it concludes with a visit to the site where Will says his mother’s “memory is kept alive by so many people who visit there”.

But fear not: Will is looking forward to “creating new memories” and maybe an iconic image or two of his own with Kate by his side, of course.
