A statue of Princess Diana will soon stand in the gardens of Kensington Palace where Prince William and Prince Harry grew up.

The brothers are privately raising funds for the piece, which they will hope will be installed by the end of the year. They have also created a committee to select a sculptor.

“It has been twenty years since our mother’s death and the time is right to recognise her positive impact in the U.K. and around the world with a permanent statue,” the brothers said in a press release. “Our mother touched so many lives. We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy.”
