After yesterday’s news that Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle, would no longer be able to attend the royal wedding, the Royal Family has come up with a unique solution. Meghan will actually be walking halfway down the aisle on her own and then Prince Charles will step in to take her to Prince Harry. 

In a statement, the palace said: “The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way.”  

Although some were speculating whether Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, would be the one to accompany her daughter, the bride-to-be actually asked her soon-to-be father-in-law to perform the honour. 

According to royal correspondent Emily Nash, it was always Meghan’s intention to walk halfway down the aisle on her own. 

 

 

Meghan and Harry were spotted in matching white shirts arriving at Windsor Castle for their wedding rehearsal last night. Here’s hoping that everything went off without a hitch.
